Daycare

Daycare provides a supervised environment where dogs who enjoy the company of other dogs can frolic the day away. Our large indoor/outdoor play area has space to run, wrestle or play fetch and on warm days we swim in the kiddie pools. There are comfy old couches to nap on and plenty of animal-loving staff to provide heaps of love and attention. Transportation is available to and from our facility for your canine companion. Our daycare guests go home happy and exhausted after a full day of fun.

Boarding

In a safe & fun environment for those times when you have to leave home is one of our specialties. We offer both kennels and crates for the comfort of our guests and amenities include orthopedic elevated beds, fleece blankets, and night lights. But the real treat comes from a day full of fun daycare with other friendly and fun-loving dogs. Metro Dog is more like summer camp than a traditional boarding facility! Should your dog prefer to sleep in their own home we are pleased to offer daily round-trip transportation accompanied by a full day of daycare.

Metro Dog is a family owned business that began in the mid-1990’s as the pet sitting and dog walking company La Amiga Pet Care.  We opened our daycare and kennels in 2001 and began teaching Walks ‘n’ Wags Pet First Aid classes in 2014.  We are certified in Dr. Sophia Yin’s Low Stress Handling Techniques and Fear Free and have experience with many other calming methods such as TTouch.  While our original handling guidelines were developed with the help of an animal behaviorist, we constantly look to improve our techniques and understanding of our charges.  We believe that the human-animal bond is a wonderful and healthful relationship and that it is our responsibility to look after our four-legged family as we would our two-legged members.  In keeping with that philosophy we endeavor to make our facility and home visits as fun and comfortable for our clients as possible.  We also hope to contribute to the pet care community, and hence to the pet community as a whole, by teaching pet first aid classes that are fit for pet care professionals.  We believe that when you are taking payment to look after a living creature you should be prepared for an emergency.  As such we have brought the best possible pet first aid training we could find anywhere to the Seattle area.
